Is Airsoft Cheap?

New airsoft players are often intimidated by the price of airsoft guns. If you could buy AEG airsoft guns cheap I'm sure we would have more players than paintball.

New airsoft players have several "start-up" costs. AEGS (automatic electric guns) start at £150. Add in an upgrade to give you a little more range and the cost for your airsoft gun cost will be about £300. Add in 2 high-capacity magazines, and you are at £400.

Depending on the team you play with you might need some military gear -- you may already have some of this stuff. Boots and camouflage clothing are a must, and that's roughly another £75. You'll quickly find that you need either Load Bearing Gear or a Load Bearing Vest to hold your airsoft magazines and misc. equipment that can be another £30-£100.

You'll also need some eye protection. The accepted standard is paintball goggles or ANSI Z87.1 rated goggles. That may be another £10-£75.

You are ready now. How much have you spent? £600

Can you afford to play airsoft? The answer may be yes. Thankfully a new player can take a few shortcuts to find out if they are going to enjoy the game.
